Passivhaus In The New Forest
Forest Carpentry are currently building 2 Passivhaus’s on the forest side of Lymington.
These dwellings are being built to Passivhaus standards, and they will be Certified Passivhaus Plus.
Each dwelling has an internal area of approximately 238 sqm. They have 4 bedrooms with 4 ensuites, a kitchen / dining room, a lounge, an office, a utility, 2 balconies and an integrated garage.
They have approximately 13kW peak of solar PV on the roof, Zehnder MVHR, Daikin ASHP, Wet underfloor throughout downstairs and in bathrooms, Heat recovery on shower wastes and an Eddi. 48mm Passivhaus Triple glazing on windows and doors. Rooflights are Quadruple glazed.
The initial Air Permeability test came in at 0.58 m3.h-1.m-2 @50Pa. If you are Passivhaus-aware you’ll know what that means.
As I write this, we are just finishing plastering in the first house. We still have to decorate, fit bathrooms, choose a kitchen etc. This property should be ready late summer. It will go on the market for circa £2m.
